Skin Peels

Skin Peels can be performed on the face, neck, chest and body, and are beneficial to the texture, color and pore size of the skin. Peels work by exfoliating the epidermis allowing products to penetrate the skin more effectively, which results in our patients using fewer products and seeing more rapid improvements. It is recommended that a peel is performed prior to starting a treatment for anti-aging, acne, or hyperpigmentation/melasma. There are a wide range of skin peels available, some requiring no down time and others up to a week. The peel best suited for you depends on your skin tone and the degree of results you are looking to achieve, combined with the down time you are willing to tolerate. It is best to have a consultation with one of our aestheticians to determine your specific needs and expectations. These treatments are not recommended for pregnant or nursing patients. Patients with allergies to salicylates should not have Jessner’s Peels, Jessner’s and Retinoic Acid Peels, Salicylic Mandelic Peels or Beta Peels. Any patient with a history of Herpes Simplex should be taking a prophylactic medication to prevent outbreak. After the peel, it is suggested that patients follow a prescribed skin care regimen to achieve the best results. The aesthetician can tell you which peel would be most beneficial for your skin condition.
